Kiama Bathroom Renovations does not itself carry out building, plumbing, electrical, waterproofing, tiling or asbestos removal work. Enquiries made through this website are passed to the licensed builder we work in partnership with.
The builder
Renovation work is carried out in partnership with Coastal Renovation Group, a licensed NSW builder. Licence and insurance details are provided on request.
Look the licence up on the NSW Fair Trading public register before any work starts, and ask for a current certificate of insurance. The register shows the holder, the licence class, its status, its expiry and any disciplinary action.
The builder provides the quote, signs the contract with you, carries out the work and is responsible for it. Any workmanship warranty comes from the builder, as does any home building compensation cover the law requires.
What we do not claim
We do not claim that any contractor other than the builder named above holds a particular licence, insurance or accreditation, and we do not monitor insurance currency over time. Ask for the paperwork and read it.
Asbestos
A great many houses through this district were built or extended with fibro sheeting, and some of it contains asbestos. We do not remove asbestos, and a builder's licence is not an asbestos removal licence. Removal is carried out by a licensed asbestos removalist under NSW requirements. If anyone proposes stripping out a pre-1990 bathroom without testing first, get a second opinion.
Water, wastewater and approvals
Information on this website about tank water and pressure pumps, onsite wastewater systems, strata consent, heritage items, bushfire-prone land, rental minimum standards and home modification funding is general. Capacity and compliance depend on the individual property and system.
The builder can explain what is usually required. The decision belongs to Kiama Municipal Council, a private certifier, your water or wastewater authority, your owners corporation or the relevant funding body. Nobody on this website can guarantee an approval or how long one will take.
What is behind the tiles
Rot, termite damage and failed pipework cannot be confirmed until a room is opened up. Quotes address this with stated allowances and a written variation method, which is why a quote should include both.
